WHAT IS FRIDAY THE 13TH?


General Information

Friday the 13th is essentially a fundraiser held in the form of a talent show. Besides trying to raise funds for 3 designated organisations (further information can be found below), the event is aimed at showcasing some of the best talents in singing and dancing. We welcome everyone from solo singers to duets, to solo dancers, to dance crews (you get the gist). Whether you are a one man show or a group of talent waiting to show the world what you've got, we want you! So think you have what it takes? Come and join us! Besides doing your part for charity, this will also be the perfect opportunity for you to show the world what you are capable of!


Why Are We Doing This?

As previously mentioned, the aim of this event is to raise funds for 3 different organisations.

These organisations are:
Thai Care Corner - An organization offering help to orphans and refugees based in Thailand.

Dignity and Services - A non-profit, non-governmental organisation offering various assistance, including for the disabled. Further information can be found here.

Sithamani Divine Life Ashram - A charitable home that is lacking in proper infrastructure.



The People Behind Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is the brainchild of 7 first year students doing their Bachelor of Psychology at HELP University College. What started off as a class assignment to raise funds for 3 organisations soon developed into a major scale event involving not only the 7 originally involved but also many of their peers who so willingly came out to lend their support in many ways.



Further Details About The Event

  • Tickets are priced at RM10 per person (inclusive dinner)

  • Participation fee for the talent competition is RM15 per person (inclusive dinner on the day of event)

  • Closing date for entries is on 3rd March 2009.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. IN CASE OF BACK OUTS, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OF PARTICIPATION FEES.

2. HELP UNIVERSITY COLLEGE AND THE ORGANISERS OF THE EVENT WILL IN NO WAY BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS AND DAMAGE OF ITEMS AND/OR ANY PHYSICAL INJURIES WHICH MAY OCCUR BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER THE EVENT.

3. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED TO ATTEND A COMPULSORY AUDITION ON THE 7TH MARCH 2009 AT HELP UNIVERSITY COLLEGE FOR A PRELIMINARY ROUND.

4. ENTRIES CAN BE SUBMITTED PERSONALLY TO THE ORGANISERS OR ONLINE.

5. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES ARE ON THE 3RD MARCH 2009. A PENALTY OF RM5 WILL BE IMPOSED ON LATE ENTRIES.

6. ALL PERFORMANCES ARE TO BE A MAXIMUM OF 5 MINUTES.


7. THE ORGANISERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE ANY PART OF THE GIVEN TERMS AND CONDITIONS AT ANY TIME WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

8. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ASSUMED TO HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

*TIME FOR THE AUDITION ON THE 7TH MARCH 2009 WILL BE FURTHER CONFIRMED AT A LATER DATE.

** PARTICIPATION FEES WILL ONLY BE CHARGED IF THE PARTICIPANTS PASS THROUGH THE PRELIMINARY ROUND.
